class description
Basics
Open the hips and free the spine. Strengthen muscles while gaining flexibility in this basic, foundational yoga class. Attention to breath and alignment. This class is appropriate for all levels. Releases body and mind for restful sleep.
Hatha
Created for students who enjoy a gentle focus while exploring Classical Yoga poses and Yogic Breathing. Offered in a quiet and comfortable environment, this slow-paced, mindful class is suitable for new and continuing students, especially those 40+. Gentle flowing movements are incorporated to provide a well-rounded experience in this creative class.
Bliss
Relaxation and meditative ease provide the foundation for exploring ways of accessing the bodies natural ability to heal. Through gentle movements combined with Yogic breathing and longer held supported poses, deep tensions are released to facilitate greater freedom of movement in hips, shoulders and spine and bring quiet reflection to the mind. All levels of students will benefit greatly from this class.
Restorative
Based on the teachings of Indian Yoga Master BKS Iyengar, this gentle, healing practice uses yoga props (chairs, blankets, bolsters and blocks) to support the body while allowing a deep sense of relaxation to calm the nervous system, relieve fatigue and support the healing process. Gentle yoga movements are incorporated to enhance a deep sense of ease in the body and to foster a serene and calm place in which to view the world. Ideal for students with Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, MS, Diabetes, Arthritis, Cancer and stress-related health challenges.
Gentle Flow
This movement-oriented class uses the breath as a meditative focal point in guiding the student through the poses. Appropriate for healthy beginners and continuing students.
Community Yoga
As an expression of Karma Yoga (the Yoga of service to others and community), this class allows students to enjoy the Yoga experience at a reduced fee of $6.00. This Hatha Yoga class is appropriate for all students.
